Annie Porter, erkek arkadaşıyla büyük bir gemi vasıtasıyla Karayip Adaları’nda tatile çıkmakta olan sıradan bir kadındır. Bulundukları geminin bilgisayar sistemi, bir bilgisayar korsanı tarafından ele geçirilir. Bütün gemiyi ve içerisindeki insanları tehdit etmekte olan bilgisayar korsanının kendince emelleri vardır. Zamana karşı bir ölüm kalım mücadelesi başlamıştır. Gemi, eğer ki yavaşlarsa, infilak edecektir. Keanu Reeves ve Sandra Bullock’un başrolde olduğu çok sevilen Speed’in devam filmi olan Speed 2: Cruise Control, otobüsteki macerayı gemiye taşıyor. Willem Dafoe’nun da yan rollerden birinde karşımıza çıktığı filmin yönetmeni ise İlk Speed’in ve Twister’ın da yönetmen koltuğunda oturan Jan de Bont. Bir bilgisayar korsanı, Seabourn Legend kruvaziyer gemisinin bilgisayar sistemine sızar ve gemiyi devasa bir petrol tankeriyle çarpışma rotasına doğru hızla ilerlemeye zorlar. Annie Porter, yavaşladığında patlayacak bir bomba takılı bir şehir otobüsünde rehin tutulan kadındır. Onu kurtaran polis memuruyla çıkmış, ancak adamın sürekli hayatını tehlikeye atması nedeniyle ondan ayrılmıştır. Daha sonra, kendisi de polis memuru olan ancak ona sıradan bir görevde çalıştığını söyleyen Alex Shaw adında bir adamla çıkmaya başlar. Storyline: 

A computer hacker breaks into the computer system of the Seabourn Legend cruise liner and sets it speeding on a collision course into a gigantic oil tanker. Annie Porter, the woman who was held on a city bus with a bomb attached to it that will go off if it slows down. She dated the police officer who saved her but broke up with him because he was constantly putting his life in danger. She would then date a man named Alex Shaw who is also a police officer but told her that he does a mundane assignment. But she eventually learns that he works for the same unit that the other man worked for and is also addicted to danger. She wants to break up with but he surprises her with a cruise. She agrees to go and he's planning to propose to her. But when he notices another passenger act peculiar, he can't help but attempt to find out what's up with him. He's John Geiger, a disgruntled computer genius who designed the ship's systems, and was fired. He then takes over the ship's systems and sets it on a course that will send her into a tanker. Alex must now foil Geiger's plans and bring everyone back safely to shore, but can he outwit a man who can control the entire ship with his keyboard?
